What home custodial care services are available for seniors, and what do they cost?
My father is a non-ambulatory Alzheimer's patient in his 7th year in a nursing home. We are considering bringing him home, and were wondering about what is typically available (alnog with typical costs) of services that come in and provide daily or twice daily custodial care.
Do any of you use such services? And if so, what do they provide and what do they cost?
Check for nursing agencies that provide nursing care. Also check and see if his medicare will cover a licensed nurse or certified med tech since they might be giving medications. In North Carolina these nurses are covered by medicare. The nursing home he is in should have a social services worker that can help you with all of this. My best to you and your father.
